The Ortego Family

We would like to start off by saying that We know that the world is hectic and the economy has everyone living on budgets and pinching pennies, but we also trust that we can all find just a little bit to help this family through.
Our amazing friends, Josh and Hope, found themselves in a bad spot when they discovered mold in their closet. Once reaching out to the proper authorities in insurance and such, they began to clear out the closet and dig deeper to find the cause and extent of damage.
After fixing one issue, having an inspector clear the work, they discovered that the damage was much worse than expected. The laminate flooring was full of mold, the sub flooring was soft and needed to be replaced. This damage was not just in the closet, but had worked into the kitchen and insulation.
Once the insurance adjuster did their work, they determined that the company would not cover the damages; labeling it as “neglect.” This leaves this family in a massive bind. They did not total the home, so they would need to come out of pocket $30k to cover the repair work and mold restoration process for the home to ensure it was livable and save for their family.
We are coming together to gather what we can for this family to get into a new place, and be safe and healthy. With four beautiful children, health and safety is always the top priority. Finding a new rental place or rent to own home is the main goal, and all of the help gathered here will go directly to making that easier for our friends.
