The most clever, happy, witty, Elivis-loving nine-year-old boy name Eli Maynard has been diagnosed with Diffuse Large B-Cell Lymphoma. Eli had been having a few weeks of abdominal pain and was diagnosed Friday, January 6th, with intussusception. He was transferred to St. John's Children's Hospital and had emergency surgery on Saturday, January 7th, where the surgeon removed a portion of his small intestine and his appendix. Eli was doing well and was discharged home Tuesday 1/10. On Wednesday, Erica received the phone call no mother ever wants to receive.

Eli will be starting eight weeks of chemotherapy next week with an uncertain treatment plan thereafter. The most important goal is for Erica and Josh to be able to be at his side as much as possible. Erica will initially take the first eight weeks off with an undetermined plan to return to her classroom and students at Chester East Lincoln. Josh will attempt to work as much as possible but the money raised is to help pay medical bills and supplement when Erica is with Eli and not working.
