Food & supplies 4 Dunkirk refugees
Donation protected
I have been visiting the camps in Northern France with Dulwich2Dunkirk, a group friends from our local football team, Dulwich Hamlet, and other London-based non-league football fans.
The camps, particularly Dunkirk, are in a terrible state. The numbers in Dunkirk have swollen rapidly over the last few months. The camp had around 200 residents of the summer. That number is now around 3000 and includes many families with babies and young children.
Food such as rice, vegetables and canned goods are desperately needed to keep these people fed and, critically, alive.
Our food shopping list:
Chickpeas
Kidney beans
Tuna
Rice
Water
Milk
Sugar
Salt
Fresh veggies including salad, lemon and parsley
Oil
We are also planning to buy as much gas as we can to help residents cook their own meals and stay warm.
We are taking guidance from local volunteer Hafsa Benbourek about what's needed and with your help we'll be able to respond to urgent needs as they arise while we are in France.
As well as paying for supplies locally your donations will also help transport the donated items from our friends and familiy in London over to France.
I know that lots of people are struggling so even if you can't contribute financially simply sharing the page with your family and friends is a massive help.
