Please Help Me Settle My Dad's Final Affairs

On December 14, my dad, Bob Farrington, was admitted to the hospital for difficulty breathing, and was on a ventilator for four days. The doctor gave us a long list of concerning problems, and he is still undergoing tests. Although he’s conscious again and just yesterday had his first sip of soup, there’s still a lot of uncertainty and the medical debt is piling up.

Many people know my dad as Scummy Man, the guitar god. He’s a musical genius, always building guitars, amplifiers, or speakers from scratch. In his seventy years he’s been in so many punk rock bands it’s impossible to name them all: Big Meat Hammer, The Scummymen, Skull 69, and Gwynne and the Tonics, to name a few.

He's helped so many of his friends, without judgment, to better themselves and get on the right track, especially the ones who were just lost in life or in addiction, or just by fixing someone’s instrument or speakers, or giving them the best advice a true caring friend could give, or anything really. So many people have told me this past week how he has helped them. They also told me how much he’s made them laugh with his sideways wit.

One of the funny things he’s always said is "If you love me, say it with cash." Now he needs our help, for real!

Scummy Bob—aka Bob Da Punk, aka Way Back Bob, aka The King of Scum—is a punk rock legend; ask any of his friends and they’ll tell you the same. But really, he’s an angel disguised as a punk rocker. He’s the most loving man, and, well, he might not like me saying this in public, but he has such a pure soul and I love him so much.
