Help Us Save These Kids

I first want to say to everyone to grab your loved ones and hug them tight because unfortunately tragedy can strike at any moment.
Me name is Melissa and my husbands name is Tim. We live in Nottingham Green and have decided to reach out to the community for help. On Monday, my husband's child El (17) and brother Anthony (11) lost their Stepfather/Father to an unfortunate tragedy. While dealing with this loss, the children lost their Mother to yet another unfortunate tragedy just days later.
We have made a decision to not only bring El to live with us, but to also foster and then adopt Anthony. These children were deeply loved by their parents and were very protective over them and kept them isolated ever since COVID-19. Prior to that, the children were bounced around the country for years as their Stepfather/Father's career dictated. They've had no chance to make friends or have any stability. This will be the first time in years that these children are going to be reintegrated into society. We will be keeping El in online learning as this is senior year. Anthony is super excited to go to school (5th Grade) and make actual friends that aren't just online friends.
Due to the manner of death for both parents, life insurance will not be paying out on the policies. The children have no college fund, no savings, nothing put aside for their future. All they have are their personal belongings and each other. These children are facing a lifetime of counseling and will never be the same. We just want to make their lives as easy as possible going forward.
We know times are tough for everyone with the way the economy is, but any little bit will help. At this point in our lives, we were not expecting our family to grow by two. We do need a few home repairs such as plumbing and basement refinishing. We also need to get a vehicle equipped to handle kids as our only transportation at this time is a work truck and the occasional borrowing of my son's car to go to PA (where the children recently moved) through this transition.
Thank you for taking the time to read our story, and please feel free to share. Thank you and God Bless.
