$50,000 FOR FIFTY YEARS
It is amazing what a little seed planted almost fifty years ago has grown into and now become one of the area’s most valuable assets. That seed, the Clifton Centennial Pool, has grown to provide nearly ten thousand visits for area children every summer for the last fifty years. Our community pool has been a place for employment, teaching, learning, exercise, competition, family gatherings and much more.
Fifty years ago this July, the community came together to build and grow something special. The Clifton pool is a perfect example of how, through those fifty years, the community has created something that is valuable and will last for generations to come.
To maintain the viability of the pool and to be more cost effective to operate, for now and future generations, the Village is renovating and updating the mechanical equipment. We need your financial support to assist in the construction renovations of the Centennial Pool. The Pool Committee, in cooperation with the Clifton Community Development Corporation, has a goal to raise $50,000 to supplement the construction costs of the renovated facility. The Foundation will provide you with a tax free charitable donation through their 501c3 status. The estimated cost of the construction project is approximately $150,000. Our Village of Clifton did receive a grant for $50,000.
Our committee has a goal of $50,000 for Fifty Years and are hoping to raise this by July 4, 2015 which is the actual 50th anniversary of our pool.
I am Karie Frake, the chairman of the Clifton Centennial Pool Committee. We are a small group that has been in excistance since 1999 to help keep our local community swimming pool a float. Over the years we have generated and donated back to the swimming pool over $100,000 to help with repairs, revovations, etc. We are a very small rural community of 1500 people and have one of the nicest swimming pools in our area.
Incredible things are possible when a community pulls together with donations, like minded goals, and hard work. We are counting on your positive support to keep the Clifton Centennial Pool a great facility for our community and surrounding area.
