Courtney's Cause

​​October 5th, 2022, started out as an ordinary day for Officer Courtney Parham. He reported to duty at 201 Poplar, just as he had done for the last seven years. A call went out regarding a combative inmate, summoning the Special Operations Unit in which Courtney worked, and the situation suddenly went awry. Officers’ actions that day were cleared by two different investigating agencies. Nonetheless, Courtney was indicted on two counts from a different agency and if convicted, faces minimally 25 years in prison.

Courtney is a law-abiding citizen and a highly trained special operations officer who has worked in law enforcement, without incident, for more than 10 years. A graduate of Brighton High and Strayer University, Courtney also studied at Tennessee State University. His father is deceased, and he is his mother’s only child. Courtney is a loving and devoted father of 3 minor children.

As Courtney’s family and friends, we stand with him proclaiming his innocence. A legal defense for a case of this magnitude can cost hundreds of thousands of dollars and can take years to resolve. There are no employer-provided provisions for Courtney’s legal defense. With our mustard seed faith, we are trying to raise $50,000 by October 30th to support #CourtneysCause.
