Hope for Zach - Fighting against Stage 4 Cancer!
Donation protected
Hello dear friends and family - and all who read this story! Thank you for taking the time to learn and care about this cause. Outlined below is the timeline and backstory to Zach’s journey up until the present day, provided by his family.
About one year ago, our dear Zachary Lutes was diagnosed with stage 4 colorectal cancer at the very young age of 29. With the nature of colon cancer, it was, for years already, masking itself under the guise of a myriad of everyday health issues, all while he was completing his Masters in Opera Performance in Oklahoma. It was not until after his move to WI in the summer of 2022, that it quickly turned increasingly aggressive, leaving him too debilitated to work once he moved. Eventually, this led to the testing that December, which devastatingly confirmed he had softball-size masses in both his colon and liver, as well as the cancer having spread to the lymph nodes in the surrounding areas.
Ever since the diagnosis, he has been fighting this illness nonstop through countless bouts of chemo and immunotherapy, chiropractic care, infusions, and acupuncture. This is all on top of the extremely rigorous home routines they have been adopting as they go. Through all of this, his car has also undergone many major expensive repairs; this has almost completely drained his funds, leaving it to the mercy of friends and family to help cover his care.
Despite the exhaustive efforts, Zach’s body has stopped responding well to the chemo and they have now been on the chase to finding an alternative path which may prove more effective for his specific and current state. After much prayer and research, God provided a new doctor that has worked with many like-patients in the advanced stages of cancer. Under this new protocol, he is already shown amazing progress, but it comes with weekly travel and high medical costs and that insurance largely does not cover.
This is where they are asking you to PLEASE consider giving however much you feel called and able to give. The Lord has always provided the means for His will, and we know that whatever twists continue on this journey, that provision is not going to stop now.
If you know our Zach, you know him to be the best kind of person. He is much more than just a great human— he is a croissant-making, quick-witted guy with an incredibly kind heart and a singing voice of pure gold. He is ready to continue the fight and with your help, we will stop at nothing to make sure he is back at his croissants and performances as soon as possible.
Thank you for your prayers and consideration ❤️
