Linda's Fight

Earlier this year, after a yearly mammogram and a follow-up biopsy on a tumor noted in the mammogram, Linda Palumbo received the news that nobody wants to hear. Malignant. Breast Cancer. Her doctor said that she is the first patient he's ever had that didn't cry. She accepted the news and resolved to fight it and beat it. And so she has begun to fight bravely. She had a lumpectomy earlier this month (in September) and once she has healed from the surgery, she will begin intensive treatments 5 days a week for 6-8 weeks. 

Linda doesn't have insurance that covers her treatment. She isn't able to work during the entire process and has to drive to Winston-Salem for all of her appointments and treatments. That means she has absolutely no money coming in at all while she faces the scariest (and most expensive) time of her life. She does not want to ask for help because she is proud and strong and hard-working and independent, but she needs us. She needs her friends and family and community to wrap their arms around her and help pull her through this as she has helped so many through their own battles.
