Medical Support for Victims of Border Patrol
Please support the following victims of Border Patrol Violence who are currently experiencing medical emergencies:
CASE OF MARISOL GARCIA ALCANTARA
Ms. Marisol Garcia Alcantara is a young mother from Mexico with three children. Without any cause or reason, on June 16th 2021, she was violently shot in the head by (a still unknown) Border Patrol agent in Nogales, Arizona. After being shot in the head, Ms. Garcia Alcantara was transported to a hospital in Tucson, Arizona and then to San Jose Hospital in Phoenix. She was abruptly transferred to USMS custody and was held in the CoreCivic's Central Arizona Florence Correctional Complex while still recovering from her traumatic gunshot wound to the head.
While in detention, Marisol suffered from extreme headaches however she did not receive medical attention to follow up post her traumatic injury. On July 15th Marisol was deported to Mexico with no due legal process. Upon her return to Mexico a doctor discovered that she still has pieces of shrapnel in her skull from the gunshot wound which has left her unable to work or perform daily activities.
Please support Marisol to receive the surgery she needs to remove the gunshot shrapnel from her skull!

CASE OF FAMILY MEMBERS IN TEXAS BORDER AREA (anonymity maintained for family security)
The mother and father of a young teenage boy who was shot and killed by Border Patrol in Mexico 2010 are both experiencing major health problems due to the long term stress of struggling against the impunity of their son's death. While the family has taken the case of their son all the way to the Supreme Court, there has been no justice or peace for the family. Due to the family's risk to their lives they have asked us to keep their identity anonymous.
The victim's mother is diabetic and is experiencing extreme complications due to constant stress and even had to leave her place of residence... She is now relocating. The victim's father has a chronic heart condition that makes it difficult for him to walk very far, causes shortness of breath and impedes him from working. He needs support for medical care.
The mother and father of the young boy killed by Border Patrol are suffering the long term medical consequences of Border Patrol violence. Please support them in their time of dire need!
THE COST
The cost of the surgery and funds to support Marisol to sustain herself and her children after the surgery is $4,500. The cost for medical care and relocation for the Undisclosed Family in the Texas Border Region is $4,500.
Together the costs for all of these emergency medical needs is $9,000. Please help us to support Marisol as well as the Undisclosed family in these trying times.
Due to Marisol Garcia Alcantara's legal status in the United States, as well as the legal status of the Undisclosed Family in Texas, none of the recipients of these funds currently have a bank account. They have asked that Trayce Peterson, the co-organizer of this campaign, receive the funds to her bank account to then transfer the money directly to Marisol Garcia Alcantara as well as the anonymous family in the Texas border region.
Even if you are only able to give one dollar, every show of support will help Marisol to recover in this moment of medical emergency and to help the parents of a Border Patrol victim receive medical care they desperately need.
Thank you for your solidarity.
