Holiday Food Baskets for the Needy

Hi everyone. As many of you know, I have worked for the Tustin Unified School District for the past 20 years. I have always worked in low-income schools. I have seen many of the children, whom I am honored to work for, go to bed hungry. Many years ago I started asking my family and friends to help me with donations so that I could make Thanksgiving and Christmas Food Baskets and give presents to the needest in my school. Last Thanksgiving we were able to give food basket...s including a gift card for a turkey and bags of fruit and vegetables to 30 families. At Chirstmas 40 children received (2) gifts each from their Wish List and their families also received a food basket. This year my husband George and I are relying on our friends and family since George was out of work for 6 months and then I had my surgery and was out of work for 6 months also. This year I have started distributing Wish Lists to families that have been referred to me by a teacher or staff member. I am concerned that I will not be able to assist these families. I would like to ask my family, friends, and Facebook friends to please, please help me give these families a Thanksgiving and Christmas they will never forget. I am asking everyone to donate at least $10.00. Everyone can afford $10.00. That means giving up (3) Starbucks coffees to help a needy family. I will take pictures and post them so that you can see the Miracle of Christmas in a child's eyes. It is an amazing feeling.
