Glen Libby Needs Your Help
Beschermde donatie
Captain Glen Libby needs your help! You may recognize him from his years of fishing on the F/V Skipper out of Port Clyde. Afterwards, he joined the New England Fisheries Management Council to advocate for the small boat fishing/small business industry in Maine. Most recently he has been working hard as President and operations manager of Port Clyde Fresh Catch, the country's first Community Supported Fishery and local seafood processing plant. He has worked tirelessly to support the community by providing local seafood and educating about the importance of maintaining Maine's diverse fishing industry.
In January 2016, Glen fell ill and after repeated visits to the local hospital, was transferred to Beth Israel in Boston where after lots of tests, the doctors have told him he needs a liver transplant. This is believed to be linked to lupus, which Glen came down with as a child.
Because of his extended stay in Boston and need for care during his recovery, we are seeking help for Glen's living and medical expenses. Glen will be out of work for a long time while he deals with this health issue and his family is asking for help from the community, which he has dedicated his life to.
All of us would be so grateful for a share and for any small contribution that will help Glen get back on his feet and back on the water! Keep Glen in your thoughts and prayers.
For those of you who prefer snail mail, please make any donation out to Glen Libby and mail it to his son Justin Libby, PO Box 32, Tenants Harbor, ME 04860. Thank you!
