Stop the Bleed
Donation protected
Stop The Bleed is a grassroots program, designed after the Sandy Hook shooting, aimed to train bystanders to become first responders in the event of a mass casualty situation.
Two Smithfield High Schoolers, Ethan Swartz and Kadence DiStefano, have brought this Pilot program to train their fellow JROTC cadets, other students, and IWCS educators and staff how to Stop The Bleed.
With that, they have a goal to place a Stop The Bleed ,Bleeding Control Kit into every classroom and office ,in every school within Isle Of Wight. They have a start to this program from the local Lions Club, and along with a couple citizens and companies that have donated some kits.
If every parent and or citizen donated the cost of one kit($44.00 plus tax ) we could quickly reach this goal, and protect the children and staff of our community in the event of a mass casualty at our schools.
You may be asking why it matters. Uncontrolled bleeding is a major cause of preventative deaths. Approximately 40% of trauma-related deaths worldwide are due to bleeding or its consequences, establishing hemorrhage as the most common cause of preventable death in trauma.
Any amount helps reach the goal of saving lives. Please give.
