Support For My Family

Hello, my name is Mark. Sunday, July 2, 2023, I injured my back and discovered I have a bulging disc between my L5 and S1. The bulging disc is placing pressure on my sciatic nerve causing extreme pain rendering me unable to walk. I have been bedridden since the injury and unable to work.  My recovery has been slow which is to be expected. Unfortunately I have only been at my current job since last October and am unable to qualify for FMLA since it has been less than a year. I am scheduled to see a specialist on 7/31, however by then I will have been forced to resign from my position at work and will be out of work for up to the next 8-12 weeks during recovery.

My reason for asking for help is my family. We have been struggling to make ends meet even before this injury. My wife is a stay at home mother and I am the sole income provider. We have been fortunate up until this point that my parents have been able to help us out, however they are both older and live on fixed incomes. We have tried unsuccessfully to get state aid. We have a mortgage and normal utilities along with food costs for my family of 7. With school starting and our oldest starting college we are facing even more added expenses. I am asking for financial help to bridge the gap until I can find a new job once my recovery is complete. We are honest people and I will make the promise to pay it forward once I can. 

My family is all I think about as I lay in bed most of the day and I don’t want them to suffer due to my injury. I just want to get through this and the help would ease the stress of all of this. I truly appreciate you taking the time to read this and thank you for any help.
