Randy Daine is a loving husband and supportive father of three amazing kiddos. He's a hard-working family man, and die-hard Packers fan. On October 13th, 2015, the Daine family received the most unexpected and devastating news... that Randy has advanced stage 4 lung cancer.
Naturally, this news has turned this family's world upside-down. It started with a swollen lymph node and they were originally thinking Lymphoma which is scary enough in itself, but they did not expect to hear "lung cancer". After more scans and tests, the doctors said it had spread to his lymph nodes, brain and upper right arm. Randy is currently undergoing radiation on his brain and arm and everyone is praying these lesions will be eradicated. Due to the lesions on his brain (most serious being on his brain stem) he is unable to work and drive at this time. It's still hard for family and friends to take it all in because he doesn't look or feel sick in any way, which is really a blessing in itself, but for someone who has worked so hard his enitre life, it's very hard for him to be sedientary and "not working". Not only is this an emotional strain, but obviously a financial strain on the entire family...something they should not need to be worrying or stressing about during this battle.
This diagnosis is an extremely serious one, and the treatment path is going to be arduous for the Daine family and friends, but most especially for Randy. Nobody is ever prepared to face a diagnosis such as this, but with the love and support of friends and family, and their strong faith, we hope to help him win this battle and keep fighting.
We hope to raise money for Randy and the Daine family to help them with expenses during his treatment. The goal is to relieve some anxieties and sterss as Randy begins his fight with the strength of his family behind him, without worrying about the "hows"!
Any support or help you are willing to offer, be it a nickel or a prayer, is appreciated beyond comprehension. Even a few kind words could make a huge difference in helping Randy and the Daine family in getting through each day a little easier. We all thank you so much.
