Help Oona get a passport for GB Baseball

Hello folks,

 

I'm Oona, a leftie pitcher training with the Women's GB Baseball team. Help me apply for UK citizenship so I can play with the rest of the team in the Women's Baseball European Championships in August.

 

 
I came to the UK in September 2014 for university and currently work as a librarian in London. I started playing baseball in autumn 2015 and, honestly, haven't looked back since. I love this sport, the people, my teams and the clubs that I play with and coach for, and it would mean the world to me to be able to represent the country I learned to play this wonderful sport in.

Since I started playing, I've played with several teams across the country, including the Belles, who won the first WB-UK women's baseball league championship this October. It's been an absolute honour to play with these extraordinary ladies and pioneer new ground in women's baseball - something I'd love to continue with the first Women's Baseball team that Team GB is sending to the Euros.

 

 

I've set the target at the total cost of the citizenship (rounded down) for context - I'm not expecting to raise the whole amount, but every little helps take the financial burden off, whether that's the price of a coffee or more. If you can't or don't want to give anything but want to help, please share this fundraiser so more people see it; I would still appreciate it!


I know people sometimes offer things in return for people who pledge to donate. Unfortunately, my talents rest primarily within sports and librarianship, so I have minimal options for such bribery. For your own safety, I won't offer to bake and to save my embarrassment, I will not draw. Suggestions welcome, though. I would promise to remember you in any post-game interviews and thank you speeches when we crush the Euros, but since I can't guarantee either, you may have to settle for my eternal gratitude for helping me join the rest of the team in showing Europe how baseball is played. And for an extra layer of security that means BoJo & co. can't kick me out of the country quite so easily.
