Hirkan Solar Impact
Donation protected
I have lived close to this area for almost 9 years and had no idea about these villages before my solar business Provitaz MMC was contacted by the farmers living deap inside Hirkan national forrest in southern part of Azerbaijan. They wanted to see if they could buy solar systems from us. In order to meet their simple demand to run a fridge lights and television the investment was far more than what they could swing as they mainly live of what they grow on their small farms in the forrest.
Provitaz MMC has agreed to donate the PV panels for the project and free installment. The remaining funds is what is needed in order to complete a project for the first village. The main cost is high quality batteries that we must buy from vendor abroad.
The villagers will organize it so that every house pay some money pr kilowatt they use so that they are able to renew batteries after 6-7 years. After completing one village our hope is that the project serves as an example and will spur the completion of the remaining villages with similar infrastructure with funds from other organizations.
We would be so greatfull to anyone that would like to support this, it will make a new life for the villagers and the people living there, and increase their health situation at the same time. Basic commodity like using a fridge is something that most people in Azerbaijan take for granted.
We plan to start the project this summer and we will update you on the progress here.
150.000kr equals to about 17.000 USD. Since I am a Norwegian and Azerbaijan is not registered with gofundme.com I must connect the donations to my Norwegian bank. However donations can be made with any valid business card.
If you want more details on how the money will be spent please contact me on [email redacted]
I moved to Lenkaran with my family in 2010, we have worked with different social projects but mainly a social business called Provitaz that focus on alternative energy. We hope that you would like to help us give electric energy to these villages!!
