Bentleys vet bills and surgery

My name is Ashley and I’m creating this GoFundMe for my girlfriend Hope and her dog, Bentley. Last week he had gotten into a situation with another dog which left him in really bad shape. The night of the incident we had brought him to the ER which they gave us the option to just stitch him up- which at an ER late at night was going to cost us 1400 or the choice to clean him up, drain the wound and give us a list of low cost vets who could help us in the morning. We chose the second option and thank god we did. The next morning I called nearly 10 low cost vets and finally found one that helped us and they were incredible. He had many bites on his neck but one was especially bad. He had a big hole in his throat, his muscles were torn up inside and he had an infected abscess. He had to then have a surgery in which they had to place a tube in his throat to drain the abscess and make it through the weekend until we could bring him back the following Monday to get it taken out and stitched up. What we thought was going to be followed up with the bites being stitched back up ended up with us being faced with some terrible news. Bentleys throat was infected worse than we thought and the antibiotics he was given were not working. The skin is turning black and whatever does not die off naturally will have to be removed. Within the next couple of weeks he will have no skin on half of his entire neck- leaving his throat exposed. He will need another surgery- basically a skin graph to repair his throat. Had we gone with the first option to stitch him up and send him home Bentley would not survive for much longer. It’s hard for us to ask for help but, right now we really need it as well as some prayers for Bentley.
