Our Daddy has Cancer
Please help us make our Daddy better. Our Mommy and Daddy are our whole world and we love them so much!
My name is Tessa and I am 9 years old. My sister Stella is 5. A few weeks ago Daddy told me he has cancer. He told me that his doctor had to put something called a port into his chest so he can get medicine. He said he can’t pick me or Stella up for a long time. He said that he was going to start something called Chemo medicine. He said that the Chemo will help kill the cancer in his head and neck. He has something called oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma, Stage 4. It is in his sinuses and lymph nodes.
Since Daddy started his Chemo he hasn’t been able to do much. He sleeps a lot. Mommy has been staying home from work many days to take care of him. I am very worried. I can hear Daddy throwing up at night. Mommy cries a lot. I know that this will cost lots of money, more than they have. I don’t understand why this is happening. He was so healthy before this. He went to the gym a lot, ate healthy foods and took really good care of himself. Daddy said in December he will start Radiation. He said that he has to do that until January or February. Daddy says it will hurt his throat and mouth so he might have to have a tube put in to get food.
This is the third time in my life cancer has hurt my little family. Our hearts hurt so much, especially mine. Please help my daddy!
Thank you for your kindness.
