My daughter, Jennifer, married her high school sweetheart, Shaun, in 2003. She went on to graduate with her Masters in Accounting from the University of New Orleans. After getting settled in her marriage and career, Jenny and Shaun decided to complete their family and try for a baby.
Jenny's gyn doctor referred her to a fertility specialist in 2012 because they had been trying for a year with no success. The doctor found a large fibroid in her uterus and decided that removing it would give her a much better chance of getting pregnant.
The fibroid was not a fibroid. It was a very aggressive cancer.
Jenny was then referred to an oncologist for treatment. She has been through multiple surgeries and rounds of chemo and radiation since her diagnosis in 2012. The cancer has continued to progress and Jenny has been fighting with everything she has to survive. We are all devastated.
Recently Jenny was referred to a clinical trial at MD Anderson in Houston. She has started the trial and we are hopeful that this clinical trial will be the answer for what we have been praying for the last 3 years. Jenny has not been in remission since her diagnosis and this is what we desperately need for her.
Since Jenny lives in Baton Rouge, the expenses for her new treatment plan in Houston have skyrocketed. Hotels, plane tickets, cab fares, meals and missed work are all some of the expenses that we are trying to help her with. These new expenses all cut into her regular budget and the last thing we need her worrying about is losing her car or her house in order to pay for her treatment expenses.
Jenny has been fighting this battle for three years and we believe she is winning... but we need her to stay strong and keep fighting, no matter what it costs.
Will you please help Jenny fight this cancer?
