The Amazon is burning, the ice caps are melting, coral reefs are dying… and scientists tell us we risk the collapse of human civilisation.  Whilst governments wallow in indecision… young people around the world are rising up.


Race for Future is the world’s first adventure documentary series that explores the realities of the global climate crisis through the eyes of the next generation, documenting their thoughts and feelings, and making their voices heard.


My name is James. I am an award-winning filmmaker and adventurer. My amazing team and I are currently racing 7000 miles from the UK to Chile in time for the UN Climate Change Summit  (COP25) this December,  where I will deliver this film to the politicians and the world… the catch is… I’m making the entire journey - FOSSIL FUEL FREE - cycling, sailing, kayaking, hiking...


So far, I have journeyed through France & Spain... filmed with inner city shepherds, free-dived for wasted fishing gear, survived a youth activist training camp and got lost cycling through in a forest in the Pyrenees. 


When I get to South America, I’ll be teaming up with more inspirational youngsters leading by example... taking to the streets to raise awareness, building houses from up-cycled plastic bricks, protecting nature and pioneering renewable energy… but before reaching my end destination, Santiago de Chile, my bike and I must conquer the Andes mountains.


This project not only explores the reality of climate change in an entertaining and engaging way… but by filming the wonderful work young people are doing we hope to help amplify their voices and make their demands heard at the highest level.


It’s an incredibly ambitious challenge but we won’t make it there without your help.
