Wade Mancuso is a 15 year old boy diagnosed with the rare disease, Klippel Trenaunay Syndrome (http://www.childrenshospital.org/centers-and-services/programs/o-_-z/vascular-anomalies-center-program)
Wade was diagnosed at birth with components of Klippel Trenaunay Syndrome. There is no current cure for this complicated progressive condition that affects different kids in different ways...symptoms for many afflicted have been known to worsen during their teen years. No single specialist can manage KTS and its associated problems, as different interventional techniques and surgical procedures are often needed. Wade's treatment involves members of an experienced interdisciplinary vascular anomalies team at Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh, Boston Children's Hospital, and most recently, Nemours Children's Hospital in Orlando, Florida.
Proceeds from Race for Wade will go directly into a secured fund to be used for medically necessary purposes such as aqua therapy, and procedures not covered by insurance including experimental and travel expenses/lodging to various out of state Children’s Hospitals.
