Local Flight Attendant Hit With Life's Turbulence

A recent trip and fall

accident leads to broken hip and

unfortunate cancer diagnosis.

A proud Pittsburgh native, Rachael Marie Hudzik had just returned home from an unforgettable 50th Birthday trip to Hawaii when an unfortunate trip and fall led to her unbelievable diagnosis.

Rachael was taken to the ER for what she thought was a fractured hip. Doctors immediately transported Rachael to Allegheny General Hospital where she underwent many tests and hip surgery placing a metal rod in her femur.

Upon further testing it was determined that Rachael did indeed develop cancer and will need time to recover. As heartbreaking as that is, Rachael's love of her career has to be put on standby.

Rachael has sacrificed so much for her career, living and training out of state, missing most holidays and special events to be a part of her Southwest Family. To know Rachael is to love Rachael, she has impacted so many lives and has given so much of herself to every person she has come into contact with. I am calling out to all of the Rox near and far as well as anyone that has grown to love "Our" Rachael any donations would be greatly appreciated.
