Racheal Batten Local Election Fund 2019

About Me:

I’ve recently been selected to contest the Local Elections 2019 for Fianna Fáil in the Artane-Whitehall Local Electoral Area

I have been working in the area over the last two years to assist the community with local issues.

I live locally in Celtic Park with my husband Carl and have family roots right across our community.

I’m a qualified Barrister and am a practicing Solicitor; working in the enterprise start-up and business development support area. I also have an MA in Criminology and I’m passionate about reforming our broken justice system.

I believe principles matter and so does our community that’s why I have chosen to dedicate as much of my time as possible to serving
our community.

I grew up in an education system that was ill-equipped to deal with my disability as I suffer from Dyslexia and I'm determined to fight for better supports in our schools particularly in SNA funding.

I recently bought my home and everyday I encounter other young couples and families either struggling to buy their own home or worse still stuck in temporary accommodation, this is a national crisis and I will fight everyday to see this corrected.

I believe we need new young vibrant candidates to represent our communities on the council with diverse backgrounds and ideas. It's time to end the "old male and stale" perception people have of politics in Ireland.

My Priorities:

• To increase diversity on Dublin City Council and support other  female candidates running in 2019 .
•To listen to the views of my community and to represent those views on the council.
• To fight for Increased Gardai resources to help make our area a safer place.
• Broader community supports for pensioners
• Broader community supports for those with disabilities and carers.
• Fighting for more community based health care services.
• Real attainable affordable housing.

Unfortunately elections are not cheap to run and I need to raise as much funds as possible to pay for canvass cards, posters, leaflets and other materials

I will be running a table Quiz Fundraiser on the 7th of March 2019 at 7.30pm in the Kilmardinny Inn Pub , Lorcan Avenue, Santry, Dublin 9. Tickets are €10 on the night and can be paid in advance or on the night, there will be raffle prizes too, tickets are €2 per  or €5 for a line.

€10 Donation = 1 Election Poster

€25 Donation = 1,500 Leaflets

€50 Donation = 5 Posters

€100 Donations = 6,000 Leaflets
