Rachel and Edwen Casaus Fight Cancer
Donation protected
Hello,
I am creating this Gofundme campaign to help my Aunt Rachel fight cancer. Her husband, Edwen has been putting in overtime for as long as I've known him. He is a warehouse worker for Windigo Logiststics and is happy to put in long hours to support his wife and their 4 children. I have never known anyone with as much work ethic, and drive to provide for his family.
In September of 2021, Rachel went to the emergency room due to the onset of sudden and debilitating headaches. Testing revealed a tumor in her brain. It was large and aggressive. There was no time for chemo, and immediate surgery was scheduled. Five days after checking into the hospital, she came out of surgery. Doctors said they were able to get all of the tumor and were going to do an MRI to discover any other potential problems. They were hopeful, but the MRI discovered additional microvascular proliferations and necrosis. Her diagnosis now had a name, Grade IV Glioblastoma. They only cared that they had to keep fighting.
Edwen continues to work as many hours as humanly possible. Trading time away from his family in order to help them fight. He only takes days off when overtime isn’t available, or he has to take his wife to an appointment for a test, surgery, or chemo treatment. Chemo sucks, we all know this, but they find strength in their faith and love for each other. Rachel continued her treatments and went in for an MRI on June 3rd of 2022. The results say they still have a lot of fighting to do.
At some point, everyone needs help. Edwen keeps taking double shifts and getting overtime as much as he can. He doesn’t care if he’s tired, hurt, sore, exhausted, sad, or depressed; he’s holding on to his wife with all he’s got. However, his FML is out of paid time off. Every day he doesn’t go to work for an appointment or treatment is a day that works against him. Rachel keeps taking her treatments, keeping her faith, and fighting as best she can. She’s been fighting for almost a year now. They are both happy to fight, willing to fight, but they shouldn’t have to do it alone, not anymore. Your donations will help provide relief from the financial burdens of daily life, ensuring Edwen can continue to be by his wife’s side. Most importantly, it will let them know they are not alone.
Thank you for your time.
