Rachel Cowley our very own Mary Poppins

Hello, my name is Carol Knight, and I've started this Go Fund Me page for my best friend, Rachel Cowley or some of her old Portage families, who will know her as Rachel Thompson.

As some may or may not know, she's recently been diagnosed with terminal bowel cancer. This is a huge awful shock that no one saw coming in a million years, made crueler as her brother died unexpectedly in December last year. Rachel and her family, as you can imagine, have been and are currently going through an extremely heartbreaking and difficult time. I am still shocked and angry that this could happen to such a beautiful family and my wonderful friend.

Rachel has touched many people's lives, caring not only for her own family but also for numerous others in her lifetime career involving Portage and Julia's house. Making a difference to many families by supporting them with their children with difficulties emotionally and practically over many years.

Her friends fondly call her Mary Poppins, and anyone who has met her will know that she is clearly is "Practically Perfect in Every Way" and such a lovely, kind and caring lady to all she meets.

So I kindly ask us to give back and make a difference in her and her family's life. I'm asking for help so she can use this money to make beautiful memories for her and her family over the next few months without worries about not being able to pay bills, especially with the current rising costs. So she can enjoy and make the most of every day, be it a day out at the seaside, a weekend away or a relaxing massage. Anything she chooses to make the rest of her life the best it can be.

Rachel, throughout her life, has always put other people's needs first. However, this time we need to put her first.
