Rachel Hendon & Family-Love and Support
Donation protected
In late October/early November 2018, our beloved friend, mother, daughter, wife and sister, Rachel Hendon, discovered that she was in for the fight of her life. She was diagnosed with Stage IV colon cancer.
Imaging showed that the colon cancer had in fact spread, and there were tumors on both lobes of the lung, the liver, the pelvis, the hip bone and socket as well as her lymph nodes. Rachel faced what we all fear, and took cancer head on with intensive chemotherapy. With her beauty and spirit unbroken, she chose to fight! She wanted to be with her husband and kids, and she chose to live.
With her husband, John Hendon, and two kids and support and love of her family, Rachel braved treatments for over four months. Recently, it was discovered that maybe the cancer was building an immunity to the current treatment, and her providers tried to change the course of treatment at Rachels request. She fought cancer ruthlessly! All while being super Mom to a freshman in high school and a first grader!
Suddenly, Monday April 8, 2019, Rachel was rushed to the hospital with new symptoms. She was taken in for emergency treatments related to her cancer. Rachel left us last night, April 9, 2019.
Please know all donations are to help the family with any remaining costs associated to extended care and treatments as well as memorial expenses.
Rachel was kind, generous, loving, loyal and fierce. It is time to rally around John and the kids to shower them in our love and support. We really appreciate all of your donations to the Hendon family.
