Rachel McCloskey Medical & Family Support Fund

Hi everyone, I created this gofundme to help Rachel and her family.
Over the summer, Rachel began to experience loss of feeling in her legs and back pain. After multiple misdiagnoses and ER visits, an MRI showed Rachel had two bulging discs. It was severe enough she was admitted and had to have emergency surgery due to immense swelling and pressure on her nerves. After a 4-hour surgery, she was on the mend and discharged three days later.
Unfortunately, this was short-lived. Within a week of surgery, Rachel was back in ER to find out she has an infection in her incision and reoccurring herniation of the discs. She’ll need another surgery in the coming weeks to fuse her vertebrae.
This has put financial pressure on Rachel and her family. Due to the complications, she has had to take an extended leave from work without pay. Unable to lift anything greater than 2lbs and the need for rehabilitation, Noah (their 2-year old), has to be separated from Rachel for a prolonged and undetermined amount of time.
With Rachel’s decrease in income, this means Gerardo is working extended hours and taking care of Noah. While Rachel’s family and friends are helping fill in the gaps care for Noah, her decrease in income was substantial.
Any medical emergency entails out of pocket expenses. I’m hoping to alleviate their current expenses and put Rachel on the road to recovery. Anyone who knows Rachel, knows she would show up for them.
All funds raised will directly go to Rachel and Gerardo to cover the costs of medical bills and expenses as well as Noah attending full time daycare.
Any donation is appreciated. Please keep Rachel and her family, especially little Noah, in your thoughts and prayers over these next 6 months.
