The great writer Maya Angelou once said ‘Be a rainbow in someone else’s cloud,’
The Rachel Rose Rainbow Foundation was born from love, resilience, and the belief that even in life’s darkest moments, a rainbow can shine through.
The Rachel Rose Rainbow Foundation’s mission is to;
✨️ Help couples, where one of them is facing a terminal illness, to have their dream wedding in Spain, at the beautiful Cortijo Rosa Blanca. An opportunity to spend precious time together, filled with love and happiness.
✨️ Give children facing life-threatening illnesses and their families the chance to come away together and spend quality time at the stunning Cortijo Rosa Blanca. The chance to relax, feel the sun on their skin, and enjoy precious time together whilst creating beautiful new memories.
Because the foundation recognises the financial strain on top of all of the other stresses caused by major illness, the Family Holiday or Wedding Day is gifted through Rachel Rose Weddings who donate their venue as well as their wedding planning and décor services for free and all other costs are covered by donations of wedding dresses & services, volunteering and fundraising events.
We rely on Wedding Dress donations to help towards the costs that can't be covered by service donations and volunteers. But we know that a lot of people find it difficult to part with their beloved wedding dress so if you would still like to help you can donate directly to this fund. All money raised will help to pay for flights, airport transfers and other expenses that can't be covered by service donations and volunteers.
About Rachel Rose Rainbow Foundation
The foundation is the brainchild of the Cortijo Rosa Blanca owner and wedding planner, Rachel McFadden.
In the last few years, not only did Rachel have to face the devastation of her own father’s cancer diagnosis and learn how to navigate his illness as a family, but just a few months later Rachel also received another huge blow when she was diagnosed with cancer herself.
Sadly, Rachel’s dad passed away in the summer of 2024 before they were able to enjoy a planned family holiday together, and although her and her family were full of grief, they were also full of gratitude for the time they had with him. A few months later, it was a welcomed relief for all to see, Rachel got her own rainbow moment - a cancer-free diagnosis.
After coming out on the other side of a horrible few years, Rachel came to realise that although those years were a dark period of her life, marked by worry, sadness and grief, she could see the light and the opening of a new chapter in her life.
Fuelled with a sense of clarity and a strong purpose to help others during sad and vulnerable times of their lives, the Rachel Rose Rainbow Foundation was born.
The first recipients, before the foundation had really taken shape, was a past wedding couple of Rachel’s, who sadly had the crushing experience of their beautiful daughter being diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia at the age of 3.
Rachel & her husband Johnny had been watching their story and hoping and praying for them and although Arabella is now in remission, she doesn't finish her grueling treatment until August. They desperately wanted to do something to help and thought it would be wonderful for them to have something to look forward to once Arabella's treatment finished, so they decided to offer them a Gifted family holiday at the Cortijo which will also coincide with their wedding anniversary ✨️
This is how the idea for our Rainbow Foundation came to life, so thank you Arabella for being the most amazing, brave little girl and inspiring us to start our foundation. We cannot wait to meet you in October ✨️
