Hi, our names are Emily and Michelle and we are good friends of Rachel's.
Our sweet friend has been experiencing more trials these last few years than seems possible for one person, both physically and otherwise.
A little about our fighter.... Rachel is a mom to 2 wonderful kiddos, Ava and Paxton, raising them mostly on her own, and doing it with a tremendous amount of love and grace. Rachel has a love for life that is obvious from the moment you meet her. Her talents include coming up with some of the most AMAZING Halloween costumes last minute that would impress a Hollywood hair and makeup artist, being down for spontaneous adventures, and being able to entertain any company that is lucky enough to be in her presence.
April 2022, Rachel had a medical emergency that led to the discovery of a life threatening Brain Aneurysm. This led to multiple surgeries and procedures and follow up therapies to get her back to feeling like herself.
A few months later, Rachel was tasked with advocating and caretaking for her sweet mom that was then facing her own medical challenges; that have continued to need Rachel's interventions, emotions and time.
2 weeks ago, Ava was driving home and hit by a drunk driver. Every mom's fear was being faced. Thankfully, God had his angels around her and she walked away with minor injuries, but the emotional scarring is very real.
Most recently, Rachel was challenged with ANOTHER scary medical incident, resulting in an ER visit, followed by a stay in the hospital to treat a case of pneumonia that had doctors concerned about her ability to pull through. Down the hall from her in this hospital was her sweet mom, also inpatient with her own health concerns.
Thankfully, Rachel was treated and able to be released to go home mid week....... to a flooded house thanks to a broken water heater...... the hits have been coming hard for her lately.
As one would imagine, the financial impacts have been huge. Rachel has gone through her paid time off from work with each of these medical incidents, for regular income to be affected, then the extra bills coming in that are in addition to regular costs of life have been quite the burden.
Rachel has spent a good portion of her life making a positive, encouraging impact on others and it is time for some friends to think of her during this season she is in.
If you are able to help her feel loved, prayed for and thought about by contributing to this fundraiser, I know it will be so meaningful to her. Her unwavering faith, ability to still see the good out there, and her uncanny sense of humor is seeing her through this tough time, but a little extra encouragement from friends to lift the financial burdens would be a blessing.
