Rachel Vogt's (Kibler) Fight Against Cancer
Donation protected
Shortly after Rachel and Sam's wedding while they were starting their new life together as Mr. and Mrs. Vogt, they were presented with devastating news. Rachel was diagnosed with Stage 4 Hodgkin's Lymphona. Hodgkin's Lymphona is a cancer that affects the lymphatic system, which is a part of the body's germ-fighting immune system. White blood cells called lymphocytes grow out of control, causing swollen lymph nodes and growths throughout the body.
If you know Rachel, you know that she loves children. She has been in school at Buffalo State College in the process of completing her Master’s Degree to become an Elementary School Teacher. Right before Rachel was diagnosed, she was actively looking for a job as a teacher. Unfortunately, she is not able to be around large groups of children while she is treating with chemotherapy, so her job search is at a halt.
Before she began chemotherapy, she started her journey with IVF to preserve the ability to have children of her own in the future, as treatment for Hodgkin's Lymphona could possibly affect her fertility. For weeks, she pushed through tests, and injections of medication. Rachel currently attends endless appointments at Roswell for tests, surgeries, medications, and chemotherapy for further treatment of her cancer. She is already seeing medical bills pile up to $15,000 and she is only about a third of the way through her treatment.
While still going through school and chemotherapy, Rachel has been nothing but positive with her road to recovery. She still lights up every room she enters despite going through such a difficult time in her life. Rachel is strong-willed and tough as nails. She is determined to beat this cancer.
Please consider donating to alleviate some of the financial stress of medical bills Rachel and Sam face during this incredibly challenging time. In a time where almost everything feels uncertain, it would be a huge blessing for them to have one less worry. Please continue to keep Rachel in your daily thoughts and prayers, and we appreciate all the love and support.
