Help Rachelle Become a Foster Parent!

Donation protected
You know those people - those certain people who have a unique ability and desire for taking on challenges in order to help and support others?

Rachelle is one of those people.

If you know Rachelle, you know that she doesn't shy away from the hard stuff. She's run several marathons, seeks out mountain adventures, and has spent her life working as a Child Life Specialist, supporting the psychological and emotional needs of children undergoing intensive cancer treatment. She sees challenge and heartbreak on a daily basis, yet somehow still has the energy to be there for her family, friends, and church community as well.

Well, now Rachelle is seeking out a new challenge - becoming a foster parent.

When you think of the ideal foster parent, Rachelle is exactly the type of person who comes to mind. She's compassionate, even-keeled, dedicated, empathetic, and steadfast - it takes a lot to ruffle her feathers. Rachelle has had the goal of becoming a foster parent for several years now; however, it has been a rocky road, with many setbacks along the way.  Through it all, Rachelle has continued to pursue foster care licensing, completing all the required classes and paperwork. Now, one hurdle remains - adding a bedroom in the basement of her home so it meets foster care regulations. However, due to some financial losses due to COVID, this final hurdle has remained in Rachelle's path.

Recently, however, in a string of "coincidences", Rachelle's story drew the attention of Local 3:16, a nonprofit in Salt Lake City made up of skilled tradesmen who donate their time to complete home projects for members of the community.  These incredible folks have volunteered to not only complete the needed bedroom for Rachelle, but add a bathroom as well. (If you have kids, you know that them having their own bathroom is very helpful!)

Now, as members of Rachelle's community, we all get the opportunity to come together and take the rest of this project to the finish line! Local 3:16 has recommended we raise at least $5,000 for the project. If we exceed the amount needed for renovation, the money will be given to Rachelle to be used for any additional expenses related to foster care.

Let's show Rachelle our support by making this happen! Go team!
