Rachel's Educational National Security Experience

Hello, I am Rachel Stanton, and I have created this fundraiser to help raise money for my travel fees to go to Washington D.C. for a once-in-a-lifetime experience, the National Youth Leadership Forum (NYLF), where I will observe and listen to military professionals explain and describe their duties and how they got to where they are now. I have been chosen on the merits of my academics and leadership potential to be one of the few high school students in the United States invited to attend. My Junior Reserve Office Training Corp (JROTC) at the Oregon City High School has been gracious enough to pay for my enrollment fee, but I will have to pay for my travel fees and the additional 3 days of the CSI Experience.  I am more than excited that I have been chosen for this elite opportunity!

 

Experiences:

I will be able to: "talk directly with national security experts, learn about the latest intelligence strategies, and experience public service in action." I will look at potential career paths and then go through a challenging hands-on simulation going through everything I have learned. There will be interactive speakers, a panel discussion about career paths, and a cybersecurity panel. We will be visiting historical sites, such as the Pentagon, FBI Headquarters, and a Foreign Embassy. A career fair will be featured there, starting careers such as the National Security Agency (NSA), FBI, CIA, U.S. Department of State, Peace Corps, and military branches.

 

I will also be attending an extended three-day CSI Experience. I invite you to donate to my fundraiser and thank you in advance for any amount you can contribute. I will be sharing pictures and the story of my experience with all who donate upon my return.
