Rachel's Junior Thesis Film

Hi everybody! My name is Rachel Hart and I am a junior Film Production and History double major at Huntington University, and this semester I have to opportunity to direct a Junior Thesis Film! During the fall semester, I wrote a short film for a screenwriting class and ultimately had the honor of being chosen to put it into actual production! "One Step Back" is the story of an man with a desire to to take his wife on a trip to Italy to celebrate their 10th anniversary, while trying to navigate his agoriphobia and how that affects his day to day life and relationships.
My team and I are currently working with a budget of $1000 dollars, which may sound like a lot to some, but quickly gets put to use. A few weeks ago a group of us filmmakers went to Chicago to hire 3 actors (for whom we are covering all travel expenses, lodging, and meals). In addition to these costs, we want to take care of our hardworking crew by making sure they get food on set throughout the day! This money would also go towards submitting the finished film to various film festivals that require entry fees!
Our film shoot commences this Friday, so we are well underway on this journey. This project is the culmination of many hours of thought, rewritting, and planning; not just on my end, but the crew's, professors', and actors'.
As a student in hopes of spending next spring studying and working in Los Angeles, getting to direct a short film at the age of 21 with such talented people is a dream come true! If you are able to give even only a few dollars, I want to THANK YOU on behalf of the whole cast and crew! And of course, thank you to family and friends who have always supported my crazy life decision to make movies :)
