I've been asked about what people can do to help. There are a multitude of initiatives and businesses you can support. I'm happy to send you a list. At the risk of sounding opportunistic, I'd like you to support a minority consulting group of which I am a part. Our mission has been to mitigate racial disparities by enhancing racial education initiatives professional organizations of all varieties. I present to you the Bijoux Consulting Group.
The Bijoux Consulting Group, LLC (BCG), was founded in January of 2016, operates as a mentor for organizations who may not have an understanding of the importance of incorporating racial diversity, equity, and inclusion into their business practices, and/or organizations who have the understanding of its importance, while unsure of how to successfully implement these factors within their existing culture. The BCG team uses the principles of public health, especially, epidemiological principles and practices, to study racism like a virus, and uses that perspective advance cultural and consciousness change.
The Bijoux Group is a collective of individuals with diverse educational backgrounds, including business administration, public health, and information systems management, as well as extensive backgrounds of public affairs ranging from juvenile detention and delinquency programs, to healthcare analytics, to non-profit and government policies. It is this diverse background that helps the company understand how a “collective of different perspectives can lead to great innovations and creative solutions to complicated and challenging problems.
Feel free to help us grow by supporting our Pro Bono initiatives for organizations wanting to engage in racial equity work but unable to budget for consultants. Through your support, this will help us take on more Pro Bono projects and expand our commitment to helping as many organizations as possible dismantle structural and institutional racism.
