Racine Virtual Learning Center

On September 27, I will complete a solo Ironman distance race to raise money for  our Racine youth.  Join me!  No, you don’t have to swim 2.4 miles, bike 112 miles, and then run 26.2 miles…you can join me by pledging your financial support.

The COVID pandemic has dramatically impacted families across the world and in our own community.  The students of Racine Unified School District begin the 2020 school year virtually. For many Racine families, it’s not possible for an adult to stay home from work to supervise young learners. And in our community, many children are reliant on daily school meals for relief from food insecurity.

In a brand-new development, the Racine YMCA and United Way are launching a virtual learning center at the Bray location. This new location provides better accessibility to families in the downtown region. It will be open to children in the 2nd-5th grades at the cost of $25 per week.  Each student will receive hands-on educational aide in a safe environment, including breakfast, lunch, and afternoon snacks.

My goal is to raise $2800: $20 per sponsorship for 140 students. 1 sponsorship for every mile raced.  This alleviates financial burden, allowing these families to participate for only $5 for one week.  Can you provide for a family- or multiple families- to help me reach this goal?

Let’s serve our community during this challenging year by making sure no students are left behind.

Thank you for loving Racine. Let’s do this!
