RADIANT: Stories from Fukushima 2020 NC Tour
Donation protected
Nearly a decade has passed since the tragic nuclear power plant meltdown in Fukushima, Japan. To promote understanding of the impact of this disaster in its historical and cultural context, we have planned a tour of RADIANT, a one-woman, multimedia performance by acclaimed storyteller Motoko, to 5 academic institutions in North Carolina. By shedding light on intimate, personal reality of the mass disaster, Motoko provides a valuable lesson on human resilience, courage, and hope. Please help us cover the cost of transportation, accommodation, and publicity for this tour with your support!

“RADIANT: Stories from Fukushima” is based on true events, and portrays three mothers during the first five years after the accident as they struggle to face the ‘new reality’ and to keep their families safe and sane. Motoko weaves a rich tapestry of fear and courage, love and despair, and hope against hope for the ultimate survival and revival of the community. For more info:
