RADIO RUMPHY, Malawi's Last Community Station

Tax deductible

HELP AUSTIN AIRWAVES put the last licensed community radio               station on the air in the impoverished Rumphy District of MALAWI.      Among the most under-developed nations in Africa, the Malawian         Government licensed community radio stations for each district.             All have successfully gone on the air, except Rumphy, which lacks              almost all resources.

AA has agreed to sponsor RADIO RUMPHY and deliver a complete FM radio station by May, 2020.

WE HAVE DONE THIS BEFORE.  AA enjoys a very positive rep world
wide, having put local, community-based radio stations on the air (or
put BACK on the air, or provided critical gear and training), including:

Haiti  (6 weeks after quake)
Houston & New Orleans (post-Katrina)
Wimberley, TX (post deadly flood)
Borneo, Tunisia, Ghana, Panama, Mozambique, and most recently

RADIO TABOO in northern CAMEROON.

We have submitted grants to various large foundations, but cannot be  certain we will be funded. There is a great deal of competition.

That's why need your help now.

>>  $4,800 is a very reachable amount. <<

100% of your TAX DEDUCTIBLE donation will go to the purchase and delivery of studio and transmitter gear. The gear will be shipped directly to the Malawian capital city of Lilongwe in May, 2020.  All AA board members, engineers, writers/researchers, work without pay and more often than not pay their own costs.

THIS IS WHAT WE DO. We put community radio stations on the air in
the US and around the world, allowing local communities to
SPEAK TO THEMSELVES AND FOR THEMSELVES.

RADIO RUMPHY is licensed to ROSCHER YOUTH DEVELOPMENT
will provide programming in English and local dialects addressing
critical issues facing WOMEN AND GIRLS .

Bamboo Radio Tower, Radio Bario, central Borneo

Six weeks after the Haiti Earthquake, Austin Airwaves put RZPF-FM
"Radio Voice of the Peasants" back on the air in Fondwa, under very
adverse conditions.

Radio Bario broadcasts solely in Kilabit, one of the most endangered
languages in the world.

Radio Builsa serves a largely non-literate region of northern Ghana      made up of poor farmers.
