Radioactive Iodine Needed for JackieCat

Donation protected
Hi, my name is Tamara and I'm starting this fundraiser to save the life of one of our cats. Jackie is a warrior and survived several years ago being attacked by a coyote and living on her own after being tossed out. She's came to our sanctuary several years ago and is a joy to be around. Now her battle is against hyperthyroidism. She was on the medication for a couple years and now she can no longer tolerate that nor the diet. So her only option is a life-saving treatment known as radioactive iodine treatment. It has a 95% success rate and a specialist has said she's an excellent candidate for it with a good prognosis. However if she does not receive the treatment soon the condition is life-threatening sooner rather than later. All of our animals at our Sanctuary are treated at our own expense and we are so funded. Never before have we ever reached out to the community to help. The time is of the essence and Jackie does not have long without any type of treatment at all. Over the last two months we have had two cats that had to get Veterinary care, in our vehicle required major repairs with a transmission. So this means our funds are depleted at this time. But Jackie cannot wait and so we humbly reach out to the community for help. How many of you know that all the furry family residence here would not be alive today heading up in for our efforts. whether it was a donkey whose family lost their home to foreclosure, a horse whose mom had already lost three of her siblings because she could not afford to keep them cats that have been tossed out as an inconvenience or living on their own, or a dog we found in the middle of the highway unconscious and required medical care and had four bullets in him at the time. We open our home opened our heart and open their land and wallet to help them in any way that we could because they are amazing to us. Some of you know us because we let you adopt a cat at no cost to you and in most cases we gave you once letter, food, and in some cases even a litter box. Others of you know that your home was made better because we invited you to adopt a dog. And we were blessed that they were the best homes that we can possibly provide for them by joining your family. Still others of you know us because we came to your home and took our time to help you find your cats when they had wandered off. In some cases this meant a cat being gone for a few days, a few hours, or even 7 months. We've never expected anything in return except for the joy we saw on your face when either your pet was returned to you, or a new pet became part of your family. It was our greatest joy, our mission, and a blessing to make our own life better. But Jackie can't wait for our funds to be replenished at this time. Her time is running out. She can no longer take the medication it makes her sick. She can no longer eat the diet that would be specified because it also makes her sick. She's a warrior... When she was attacked by a coyote while wandering after a family threw her out, she drug yourself up to her back door in our deck with two broken hips, her tail barely hanging by a ligament had to be amputated, and she'd held on so tight to a tree to get away that her claws can no longer be retracted. That was over a decade ago and she has thrived since she got over that episode. Other animals we have in our care survived being thrown out and having frostbit in the ears that were nearly gone. We waited until the last minute to do this fundraiser because we were embarrassed and really hate to reach out to ask for any funds. But Jackie deserves this chance and this is the only way that we can afford it at this time. She's getting her care if we raise the funds very soon because it's required. And it will be done by a specialist Associated Veterinary Specialist in Bridgeton Missouri. If any of you can spare a share of this post to your own page or possibly two a group we truly appreciate it if we get more fun than what is necessary it will go straight to the animals. We already use the funding that we were saving for the patio so the cats can go outdoors on beautiful days. Because we had two cats who needed care a short time ago. Whether you choose to contribute a dollar, or more, or just say a prayer for Jackie we would appreciate any and all help. Thank you in advance for your consideration .
