Radley "Rad" Savage

Update 12/23/23: Surgery went well and chemo has started, but there have been a few setbacks over the last couple of days. Radley has significantly low oxygen levels due to the lung that was deflated during the procedure; he’s now developed excess fluid (plural effusion) around his right lung. In addition to this already physically taxing circumstance, he also contracted COVID-19, straining his breathing even more. The plan as of right now is to keep him in the NICU, monitor his blood oxygen levels, and continue with the chemotherapy.

The positives are that he seems to be taking the chemo well, he is able to eat through a gastric tube that was inserted alongside Tiffany’s breastmilk, and mom and dad have been cleared to hold him and play with him. Please keep praying that Radley fully heals, that there are no more setbacks, and for strength and peace of mind for Ryan and Tiffany. Thank you for your continued love and support!

Update 12/21/23: Finishing surgery right now! He got through everything just fine - God is GOOD! The doctors put the port in first (sort of like a permanent IV) and lined it down the stomach as a reference point. They did the biopsy today as well; once the surgeon got in there, he wanted to take the tumor out immediately, but proceeded with caution/hesitated because the tumor is against the spine. His BP lowered a little too much during the surgery, then went back up to normal levels. Oncologist finished up the bone marrow and everything went well! Chemo will start as early as tomorrow. Thank you all for your continued support and prayers. Please spread the word as best you can!

Update 12/19/23: Radley will be undergoing surgery on Thursday to take a biopsy of the tumor, as well as insert a vincristine-aspirin-ticlopidine (VAT) therapy for vascular tumors. They are hoping that the chemo naturally shrinks through this process. Currently, only family will be allowed as this is obviously very high risk and the baby will be susceptible to infection.

Awesome Times in Highland Village will be hosting a fundraising event for the Savages next week; I will update you once I know more. Please continue to pray for the family and spread the word so that we, as a community, can take care of them.

Hi, my name is Ashley Bell and I'm advocating to raise funds for Radley "Rad" Savage; his amazing, loving parents are Ryan and Tiffany Savage of the greater Dallas-Fort Worth area. Radley is a beautiful, happy four-month-old boy who was just diagnosed with a cancerous tumor behind his heart (the official diagnosis is a neuroblastoma). They are currently at Children's in Dallas, TX. With Christmas being right around the corner, a Christmas miracle is in order.

Ryan has worked at Torchy's Tacos in Highland Village as their lead bartender for the last four years, and Tiffany is now a stay-at-home mom (SAHM), lovingly taking care of sweet Radley.

Because of Rad's recent diagnosis, Ryan will be out of work for the imminent future. To help alleviate some of the pressure of medical bills, regular monthly bills, loss of wages, and the stressors of the holdiays, please consider donating to this wonderful family to show your support. Any and everything will help, along with your heartfelt prayers.

Thankfully, what we know right now is that the prognosis will EVENTUALLY look like a full recovery; however, it will be a very long and grueling process for all involved until that time. Chemotherapy will start ASAP. As is obvious, a four-month-old going through this is gut-wrenching, and anything that we can do to help them will be much appreciated.

I will keep you abreast of any updates as they come in. God bless.
