Rafael Herrera Jr. Aka Rafa, A family Man

Hello, my name is Nate Villarreal. You see, Rafa was like a brother to me and left me the responsibility of his family before passing away September 16, 2023. In an effort to complete his wish, I have started this gofundme page.

Rafa was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes when his Father passed away from diabetes himself. He was only a teenager, as diabetes runs heavy on both sides of his family. 14 years later Rafa would also lose his mother to diabetes. In his adulthood he would enter the biggest fight of his life with diabetes because he simply did not want to leave his wife and daughters as he was left at such a young age fending financially, emotionally, and spiritually. Unfortunately he suffered the same fate as his parents and his biggest nightmare of leaving his wife of 24 years and not being able to see his daughters grow up would come true. After a 27 year fight with diabetes he would eventually lose slowly. First kidney failure, then losing his eyesight, becoming an amputee on all four of his limbs due to gangrene and ultimately death.

The money I am raising for Rafas Family is to pay for hospital bills he left behind, funeral expenses, and supplemental housing, till his wife Jenny, and his daughters Natalie and Katherine can become stable and find a financial solution while they mourn their loss. Due to financial limitations they were his 24 hour caretakers for the last two years and built up debt.
