Rag & Family Help Fund

Almost 6 weeks ago my dear friend, and fellow member of the Norton In Hales Motorcycle Club - ‘Rag’ was on a rideout with others on a beautiful sunny afternoon in North Wales when tragedy struck !

Rag was involved in an horrific collision that is still very hard for us to come to terms with.

He suffered massive life changing injuries at the scene which included a severed leg above the knee, several severed fingers, broken bones in his neck, and back, shattered arm broken in numerous places together with nerve damage, broken shoulder / collarbone, pelvis, and hip, plus a punctured lung to name just a few.

Thankfully the first person at the scene was an off duty soldier who made a tourniquet from his belt which without a doubt saved his life, followed by 2 off duty nurses who kept him stable until the ambulance / air ambulance arrived.

Rag was airlifted to Cardiff Hospital where he remained in a coma for a number of days.

Since then he has undergone multiple operations to try, and rebuild his shattered body as much as they can. He’ll no doubt remain in hospital for an as yet unspecified number of months.

Rag is a self employed Carpenter / Joiner who realistically will never be able to continue his chosen career, and lives with his partner, and teenage son.

Unfortunately Rag never took out personal injury insurance, because like most of us though he’d never need it.

We’re all rallying around to help as much as we can, but I know already it’s a massive struggle for the family financially. With all the things that will need to be done / adapted at home etc in order for them to lead their lives as normal as possible under the circumstances going forward is going to be a huge struggle for them, not forgetting the cost of travelling back, and to the Hospital every day which in itself is a 7 hour round trip each time.

With that in mind, if you can help this wonderful family in any way whether you’re a friend, fellow villager, customer, fellow biker, or just someone that cares, any donation know matter how small would I know be very gratefully received.
