RAGBRAI Community Fund 2024

Tax deductible
It’s here - RAGBRAI’s LI. When a few friends got together for a casual bike ride across Iowa in 1973, no one imagined that a tradition would be born, let alone that the Register’s Annual Great Bicycle Ride Across Iowa would become the longest, largest, and oldest recreational bicycle touring event in the world.

RAGBRAI is only possible because of the towns across Iowa that open their homes and businesses and send volunteers to serve the ride. This fund was created to say thank you to the 8 host communities that will make RAGBRAI LI possible.

Donations to this fund will support nonprofit organizations that have been recommended by the 8 host communities along the route [to be announced in March 2024] that are positively serving their community, and Air Force Cycling Team, a nonprofit organization driven by integrity, service, and excellence. They are referred to as the Guardian Angels of the Road. GoFundMe.org verifies and then approves all recommended nonprofit grantees to ensure your donation is safe and distributes grants to each organization after the ride.

Your single donation to this centralized fundraiser is disbursed to support each host community.

Show your gratitude to these organizations by donating to this fund too, and sharing with your friends and family who love RAGBRAI. Help us reach our goal of raising $200,000 in this fund to give back to these communities.

More about the overnight host towns:
Each year, 8 Iowa communities along the RAGBRAI route serve as “host” communities for overnight stays. RAGBRAI is a guest in these communities, and the people of Iowa make the ride special for its participants. Hosts across the state generously open up their towns and communities so that all participants have a safe and comfortable place to rest up for their journey the following day. Donations to this fund will be equitably distributed by GoFundMe.org to each town’s recommended nonprofit and Airforce Cycling to give back and thank the towns for making this ride a success with their generous hospitality.
