Rahmel Summerlin

Hi, My name is Diane Shelton and I am raising funds for the funeral of Rahmel Summerlin.

Like many other friends, co-workers, acquaintances, and family members, I find my heart shattered over the tragic death of Rahmel Summerlin, the son of Asbury Park's very own Nina Summerlin. Rahmel died following a tragic car accident in Baltimore County, MD, during the early morning of Saturday, February 25, 2023. Rahmel & his wife, Ishjah Mayo-Summerlin, were returning home from a usual "date night." This occurrence happens too often and when it hits home, it is all the more devastating! Ishjah remains hospitalized after several surgeries.

Rahmel graduated from Asbury Park High School in 2009 and studied at Towson University. He was employed as an Elementary School teacher in Baltimore, MD, and he leaves behind his wife, who remains sedated in John Hopkins hospital, and a 5-year-old daughter, Pheonix.

Nina Summerlin has always been very active in the community - providing assistance, mentoring, and giving back whenever and wherever she can. She now needs our help!

The funds received via Go-Fundme will go towards the transport and funeral arrangements for Rahmel. Any remaining monies will be given to the immediate family to use where most needed. Thanking all in advance!!
