Rainbow Closet: A Gender-Affirming Resource Bank

Tax deductible
As many of you may already know, Open Doors Counseling Center was scheduled to host a drag show fundraising event on March 25th, 2023. The original event was called "Come As You Are" and was going to promote mental health themes, such as self-love and self-acceptance. Proceeds raised were going to benefit a program called the Rainbow Closet, which is a resource bank that would provide people with gender-affirming resources (I.e. clothing, binders, make-up, hygiene products, and more). Due to receiving death threats, the fundraiser was canceled.

People have been asking about ways to donate to the cause. Now is your opportunity! You can donate to the Big Sandy LGBT+ Safe Zone, Inc.. This corporation is organized and operated exclusively for eliminating prejudice and discrimination purposes within the meaning of 501(c)(3) of the internal revenue code. The BSSZ board members have agreed to help raise money for the Rainbow Closet and are planning to do so in conjunction with Pikeville Pride, Open Doors Counseling Center, and the Kentuckians for the Commonwealth on 3/25/2023 from 2pm to 4pm via a virtual drag show fundraiser event called "Log On As You Are". We come together in solidarity to show the world that we will not back down and that you can be unapologetically YOU.

*Edit: The original goal of $3,000 was met within 2-3 days. I have raised the goal to $5,000 since we continue to receive support for this. <3
