Rainbow Stars
Rainbow Stars disability support group have been raising funds for 5 years to give back to our local and vulnerable community. We are raising funds for the disabled community of Lincolnshire. Rainbow Stars has pioneered and piloted a disability hub in Sleaford over the last 3 months and it is already proving a huge success. We have now applied for charity registration and are in need of a bigger premises to maintain those we currently support and future members. We have viewed a property that is currently for let and is a perfect size, accessible via train, foot and car. It accommodates all needs. While we wait for charity registration and various funding, we need £5000 for the first 6 months rent. All members of Rainbow Stars disability support group will benefit from this and the membership of Rainbow Stars is open to anyone in Lincolnshire with an additional need.
The Hub
The Hub will support people with additional needs to socialize and interact with others on a daily basis. It will have a sensory area as well as outdoor sensory activities, home educated children with SEN will be welcome. We hold arts and crafts sessions and learning opportunities. We work with those that are no longer in education and would like to learn life skills, like cooking, growing vegetables, and gardening. We offer support with CVs, mock interviews and any other support work prospects. We offer a variety of therapies including pet therapy, music therapy, Lego therapy and more. We arrange days out and parties throughout the year. We provide support for carers and direct to external agencies as necessary as well as offering coffee morning and regular meets for carers. Our vision goes far beyond this and will succeed to go on to bigger things for our disadvantaged community.
