Raise a Boot for Ben!

As many of you know, Ben Schultz, an Anchorage firefighter was critically injured during a training accident on June 5, 2017. He sustained multiple injuries including a massive head trauma. He has made remarkable progress over the past week but remains in a coma at this time. Ben will need to be transferred out of state, in order to receive the best possible brain rehabilitation. Ben is a fireman, paramedic, brother, son, friend, husband, father and an incredible man of God. He has a beautiful wife, Tazlena and two fun children, Eli(5) and Nora(2). Throughout Ben's twenty-eight years he's made the world a more positive place in many ways including his chosen career, Young Life, missions trips and most of all his positive attitude and amazing smile. It is worthy of noting that Ben's family has had a trying year, including Tazlena's childhood home burning down and other medical crises, yet this has not broken this family instead it has strengthened their faith.

Although there has already been overwhelming support by the AFD, APD & friends in the Anchorage area, many friends and family in the Fairbanks community have expressed interest in supporting the family as well. This site has been set up as an outlet to do just that.

These funds will be used to help ensure that Ben's family can provide for their needs during this time. It will be a long and trying recovery.
