As many of you know I am in Nandi, Fiji volunteering at Votualevu School for 7 weeks. I teach 21 Kindergarten students from 8:30-12 and 39 Grade 2's students from 12:30-3pm.
I feel like the luckiest girl to be able to have the opportunity to teach and support these kids, I have completely fallen in love with each and every one of my students. The kids are all so eager to learn and its been an absolute treat to be able to teach them.
With this being said, its difficult for the children to have the proper supplies to achieve their academic potential. Their notebooks are not in good conditions and not a lot of them have their own pens and pencils. In Canada it is easy to overlook how truly blessed we are with our education system being able to support us in our academic careers in every way financially possible.
I am hoping to raise $1000 to go towards making boxes for each child that contains pencils, notebooks and all of the necessities to be to learn at ease and do their very best in school.
It would truly mean the world to be if you are able to donate. I want to be able to do everything I can for these kids here in Fiji, leaving them better than when I got here.
