Jamie’s legacy: Supporting Ugandan children
Thank you for reading.
In June 2020 Jamie was tragically taken away from us at the age of 16. As we rebuild our lives we are trying to create a legacy in Jamie’s memory by supporting vulnerable children in Uganda.
Having recently seen just how little the children have initially we wanted to provide some football equipment (i.e. goals & kit) however we are now engaged to support the Cefovid charity (https://cefovid.org/) in other areas such as funding children back into education and providing basic amenities such as fresh water supplies.
The children we aim to support are 6 to 13 years of age, many are orphans that have not been to school for some time. Having spoken with the aid workers at Cefovid, a village community in Uganda, our donations will be a great support getting children back into school & providing educational supplies.
Cefovid rely on charity donations, Coventry City Supporters Club being one through which both Jamie and myself are associated. Football is a psychosocial support to these vulnerable children and brings happiness to their world.
Jamie was always giving with his fund raising such as his 24hour YouTube (JP24GM) broadcast for NHS earlier in 2020.
We are looking to get Jamie’s name out there, perhaps a classroom named after him or a donation sign above a community fresh water supply. It brings us great comfort knowing Jamie can still bring happiness to other children and smile while looking down
Thank you so much for your support it is very much appreciated
Alec, Julie, Sam & Jamie!
