My mom has been in the U.S. for over 20 years. She raised me and my sister as a single mother, working multiple jobs, and I owe everything I have and am to her.
After 18 years she was finally able to start the process to become a documented resident, and it’s been a long battle. Since we first started we have spent over $8k but with the current president, the expenses of a lawyer, and everything we need to make our case stronger, we don’t have enough and we’ve run out of options.
When we started the process we were told that at most we would need 5k. Now, after several years, we’re being told that it can be upwards of 20k.
On December 26th, 2019 by 8am we need to have 6k for her court date where a judge will decide if she can stay or if she is to be deported.
I know times are tough, but any thing helps.
